An Act banning glue based rodent traps.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 270 of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking out section 3A and inserting in place thereof the following section:-

Section 3A. (a) No person shall use glue or adhesive-based traps for control of rats, mice or other rodents. A violation of this subsection shall be punishable by a fine of no more than $50. 

(b) Whoever negligently or maliciously places any poison or poisoned food for the control of rats, mice or other rodents in any place where it may cause injury to any human being or domestic animal shall be punished by a fine of $25.

(c) The officers charged with the enforcement of the laws relating to fish, birds and mammals under chapter 131 shall take cognizance of violations of this section and enforce the provisions thereof, and they shall have all powers necessary therefor.
