An Act ensuring the efficiency of protective order hearings.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 2 of Chapter 209A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:-

In the event that the plaintiff and defendant are currently before the probate court on matters including but not limited to: divorce; separation; paternity; custody; support; and alimony, proceedings under this chapter shall be filed, heard, and determined in the probate court where said matter or matters are pending.
