An Act to promote equity for employees who take leave for the birth, adoption, or placement for a foster child.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 2 of chapter 175M of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting the following paragraph after subsection (f), subsection: (g) The taking of family or medical leave for the birth, adoption, or placement of a foster child shall count as credible service for an employee of the Commonwealth, its Political Subdivisions or Authorities for the purposes of calculating seniority, step anniversary, vacation milestones and longevity.
