SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, any employee of the Commonwealth or its political subdivisions who was required to work during the Massachusetts state emergency related to COVID 19 declared on March 11, and required to report to a work location outside of their home, shall be compensated retroactively at a rate of one and a half times their regular rate of pay for every day that they were required to report to work for the duration of the state emergency, or in lieu of compensation an employee may, at their discretion, receive one half day of compensatory leave for each day, or portion thereof worked during the duration of the state emergency.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
