An Act relative to late membership into the state pension system.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 3 of Chapter 32 of the General Laws, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “application” the second time it appears in subsection (3), the following words:-
“However, in the event that an employee was laid off from their position, or otherwise lost their employment through no fault of their own and was previously not informed of the application process for membership, that employee shall be deemed an individual that may apply for and be admitted into membership.”
