SECTION. 1. Section 21 of chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 official edition, is hereby amended by inserting after subsection (1)(d) the following new subsection:
“ (e) Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, pursuant to the Massachusetts state of emergency related to COVID-19 declared on March 10, 2020, the public employee retirement administration commission may review and amend the amount of allowance distributed to members under section 7 subsection (2) of said chapter 32. Provided further, that while conducting the review, the commission shall consider the feasibility and economic impact of providing payments greater than the amount provided in said subsection (2)”
SECTION 2. Section 1 is hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. Section 2 shall take effect 180 days after termination of the March 10, 2020 declaration of state of emergency by the Governor.
