An Act expanding creditable service benefits to veterans who have served in the armed forces of the United States.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Subdivision (2) of section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 edition, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 468 of paragraph (b), after the words “his appointment,” the words- “or for years of service in the armed forces of the United States, a veteran as defined under Section 6A of Chapter 115;”

SECTION 2. Subdivision (2) of section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 edition, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 470 of paragraph (b), after the words “permanent-intermittent or call fire fighter” the words- “veteran as defined under Section 6A of Chapter 115;”

SECTION 3. Subdivision (2) of section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 edition, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 471 of paragraph (b), after the words “permanent-intermittent or call fire fighter” the words- “or veteran, as defined under Section 6A of Chapter 115,”

SECTION 4. Subdivision (2) of section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 edition, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 473 of paragraph (b), after the words “permanent-intermittent or call fire fighter” the words- “or veteran, as defined under Section 6A of Chapter 115”

SECTION 5. Subdivision (2) of section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 edition, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 482 of paragraph (b), after the words “permanent-intermittent or call fire fighter;” the words- “or for years of service in the armed forces of the United States, a veteran as defined under Section 6A of Chapter 115;”

SECTION 6.
