An Act relative to creditable service buy-back for veterans.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “system”, in line 156, the following words:-  ; provided, further, that a veteran who may purchase creditable service for active service in the armed forces of the United States pursuant to this section and is employed as a firefighter or police officer may purchase said creditable service at a rate that is 1 per cent lower than the rate at which an individual employed as a firefighter or police officer may purchase creditable service for time spent as a reserve or permanent-intermittent police officer or a reserve, permanent-intermittent or call fire fighter pursuant to paragraph (b) of subdivision (2).
