An Act relative to renewable energy.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 183A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following new section:-

Section 23. Any owner of a unit which is detached and is a free standing unit, install a solar energy system, as defined by section one-A of chapter forty-A, without seeking approval from the managing agent or homeowners organization of unit owners. All costs associated with the installation of a solar energy system shall be borne solely by the owner of the free standing unit electing for such project.
