An Act relative to Disabled Veterans Plates and Placards.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 60A of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after the word “who”, in line 97, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, the following words:- is eligible for a special parking identification placard authorized by section 2 of chapter 90 or who.

SECTION 2. Section 6 of chapter 64H of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after the word “who”, in line 349, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, the following words:- (i) is eligible for a special parking identification placard authorized by section 2 of chapter 90; or (ii).

SECTION 3. Section 33 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out clause (29) and inserting in place thereof the following clause:-

(29) No fee shall be exacted for the registration of any vehicle owned by (i) a disabled veteran who is entitled to display thereon the distinctive number plates authorized by section 2; or (ii) a veteran who is eligible for a special parking identification placard authorized by section 2.  No fee for the issuance of a license to operate such vehicle shall be exacted upon: (i) a disabled veteran who is entitled to display thereon the distinctive number plates authorized by section 2; or (ii) a veteran who is eligible for a special parking identification placard authorized by section 2.
