An Act relative to basing dispositional orders on a child’s best interest.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 24 of chapter 119 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 38, the words “subclause (ii)” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- subclause (i).
SECTION 2. Clause (2) of subsection (b) of section 26 of said chapter 119, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out subclause (i) and inserting in place thereof the following subclause:-
(i) any person, including the child’s parent, who is found by the court to be qualified to give care to the child;.
