SECTION 1. Section 25 of chapter 147 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the first sentence the following 2 sentences:-
No person shall engage in the business of watch, guard or patrol agency without a license. No watch, guard or patrol agency shall hire employ a person to provide the services of watchmen, guards or private patrolmen without a license.
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding section 25 of chapter 147 of the General Laws, a person who is employed by a watch, guard or patrol agency, as defined in section 22 of said chapter 147, to provide the services of watchmen, guards or private patrolmen on the effective date of this act shall be licensed within 1 year of the effective date of this act.
