An Act relative to driver’s license reinstatement fees.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
The first paragraph of subsection (c) of section 22 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following 2 sentences:- The registrar shall review the facts of the motor vehicle violation prior to suspension, revocation, limitation or reinstatement of the right to operate a motor vehicle to ensure the conviction is properly categorized as equivalent as if said violation had occurred in the commonwealth. If the facts that led to said conviction were exclusively for operating a vehicle at a rate of speed exceeding the speed limit for the way upon which the person was operating by 20 miles or fewer per hour the registrar shall not: (1) suspend, revoke or limit the right to operate a motor vehicle or (2) impose any additional fine.
