An Act relative to the Chilmark Select Board.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to petition the General Court to enact special legislation to re-name the executive body of the town of Chilmark, previously known as the board of selectmen, to be known as the select board of the town of Chilmark, which shall have all of the powers and authority of a board of selectmen under any general law, special law, or by-law, and providing that the members of the select board, previously known as selectmen, shall be known as select board members, or to take any other action relative thereto, provided that the General Court may make clerical or editorial amendments to the form of said proposed Special Act, and provided further that the Selectmen shall have the authority to approve and accept any such amendments.
