SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, in order to address disruptions caused by the outbreak of the 2019 novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, during the governor’s March 10, 2020 declaration of a state of emergency, Massachusetts restaurants shall be permitted to sell fresh produce, meats, and other whole foods. Restaurants that choose to sell fresh produce as permitted by this act shall adhere to all federal, state, and local health and safety laws regarding the sale of fresh produce and other whole foods.
