Chapter 143 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:-
Section 101. The state building code and specialized codes shall permit the use of any refrigerant listed as an acceptable substitute or safe alternative by the United States Environmental Protection Agency in the Significant New Alternatives Policy program, established pursuant to section 612 of the federal Clean Air Act, as codified in 42 U.S.C. 7671k ; provided, that any equipment using said refrigerant, including but not limited to freezers, refrigerators, refrigerator-freezers, and air conditioning equipment, shall be listed and installed in compliance with the safety standards required by the United States Environmental Protection Agency in said Significant New Alternatives Policy program established pursuant to said section 612 of the federal Clean Air Act, as codified in said 42 U.S.C. 7671k
