Donato for legislation to authorize the State Treasurer to appropriate funds payments due in accordance with a certain civil judgment of the abuse by state employees documented in Davis v. Rennie, et al, reports recommending that the accompanying bill (House, No. 4570) ought to pass.

An Act providing payment to the estate of Jason Davis.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 2 of chapter 24 of the acts of 2021 is hereby amended by inserting after item 1599-2003 the following item:

1599-2014 For payment, notwithstanding section 9 of chapter 258 of the General Laws, of any outstanding judgment entered in Davis v. Rennie, No. 96–CV–11598–MEL in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, from the general fund to the estate of the plaintiff; provided, that payment shall be disbursed by the end of the third quarter of this fiscal year ……… $2,491,053
