The committee on Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure to whom was referred the petition (accompanied by bill, Senate, No. 248) of John C. Velis for legislation relative to identification for the sale of alcoholic beverages, and the petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 436) of Paul McMurtry and others relative to the identification required for the purchase of alcoholic beverages, reports recommending that the accompanying bill (House, No. 4589) ought to pass.

An Act relative to acceptance of out-of-state identification in Massachusetts.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 34B of chapter 138 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the words “foreign country,” in line 19, the following:- a valid license to operate a motor vehicle issued by another state,
SECTION 2. Said section 34B of chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 25 through 27, inclusive, the words “a liquor purchase identification card, or an identification card issued under section 8E of Chapter 90, or motor vehicle license issued pursuant to said section eight”, and inserting in place thereof the following:- identification permitted by this section
