An Act relative to use by caregivers of earned time for school closings.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Subsection (c) of section 148C of chapter 149 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out paragraph (4) and inserting in place thereof the following 2 paragraphs:-

(4) address the psychological, physical or legal effects of domestic violence as defined in subsection (g ½) of section 1 of chapter 151A, except that the definition of employee in subsection (a) will govern for purposes of this section; or

(5) care for the employee’s dependent child when said child’s school is cancelled due to weather or exigent circumstances.
