An Act amending the charter of the town of Swampscott.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 2-1 of the charter of the town of Swampscott, which is on file in the office of the archivist of the commonwealth, as provided in section 12 of chapter 43B of the general laws, is hereby amended by striking out the words “selectmen” and “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.

SECTION 2. Section 2-2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 3. Section 2-3 said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” in each instance in which they appear and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 4. Section 2-6 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “selectmen” and “board of selectmen” in each instance in which they appear and replacing them with the following words:- select board.

SECTION 5. Subsection (b) of section 2-9 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “select board.”

SECTION 6. Section 3-1 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” in each instance in which they appear and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 7. Section 3-2A of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” in each instance in which they appear and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 8. Subsection (b) of Section 3-3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 9. Subsection (b) of section 3-4 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 10. Subsection (c) of section 3-4 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 11. Subsection (c) of section 3-5 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 12. Subsection (g) of section 4-1 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 13. Subsection (h) of section 4-1 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” in each instance in which they appear and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 14. The title of chapter 5 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “Board of Selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 15. Subsection (a) of section 5-1 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” in each instance in which they appear and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 16. Subsection (b) of section 5-1 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 17. Subsection (c) of section 5-1 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 18. Subsection (d) of section 5-1 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” in each instance in which they appear and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 19. Subsection (e) of section 5-1 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 20. Section 5-2 of article 3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 21. Subsection (xx) of section 5-2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 22. Section 6-1 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” in each instance in which they appear and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 23. Section 6-2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 24. Subsection (i) of section 6-2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 25. Subsection (ii) of section 6-2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 26. Subsection (iii) of section 6-2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” in each instance in which they appear and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 27. Subsection (v) of section 6-2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” in each instance in which they appear and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 28. Subsection (vi) of section 6-2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 29. Subsection (vii) of section 6-2 of article 4 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” in each instance in which they appear and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 30. Subsection (xiii) of section 6-2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 31. Subsection (xv) of section 6-2 said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 32. Subsection (xvi) of section 6-2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 33. Subsection (xvii) of section 6-2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 34. Subsection (a) of section 6-3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” in each instance in which they appear and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 35. Subsection (b) of section 6-3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” in each instance in which they appear and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 36. Subsection (a) of section 6-4 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 42. Section 7-1 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 43. Section 8-4 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” in each instance in which they appear and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 44. Section 8-5 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 45. Section 8-7 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 46. Subsection (A)(3)(ii) of section 7-4 of article 7 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 47. Section 8-9 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 48. Section 8-10 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 49. Section 10-1 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” in each instance in which they appear and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 50. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
