An Act relative to the appointment of retired police officers in the town of Canton.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 394 of the acts of 2004, as amended by chapter 87 of the acts of 2017, is hereby further amended by striking out the words “Canton police” each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following word:- police.
SECTION 2. Said chapter 394 is hereby further amended by striking out section 9 and inserting in place thereof the following section:-
Section 9. Retired police officers, serving as special police officers under this act, shall be subject to the limitations on hours worked and on payments to retired town employees under paragraph (b) of section 91 of chapter 32 of the General Laws to the extent such law is in effect during such service.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
