Kelcourse (with the approval of the mayor and city council) that the Haverhill Retirement Board be authorized to grant creditable service to John Farrell, an employee of the fire department of the city of Haverhill.  Public Service.  [Local Approval Received.]

An Act authorizing the Haverhill Retirement Board to grant credible service to John Farrell.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Haverhill retirement board shall credit John Farrell, an employee of the Haverhill Fire Department, with 2 years and 6 months of creditable service for the period of November 1st, 1998 to November 1st, 2006 when he served in the United States Armed Forces, for the purpose of determining his retirement allowance. Before the date that any retirement allowance becomes effective for John Farrell, he shall pay into the annuity savings fund of the Haverhill retirement system in 1 sum or installments, upon such terms and conditions as the board may prescribe, an amount equal to that which would have been withheld as regular deductions from his regular compensation for such previous service.
