An Act authorizing employees to supplement their Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) wage replacement benefits with accrued sick and vacation time.

 

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to authorize employees to supplement their paid family and medical leave wage replacement benefits with accrued sick and vacation time, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 3 of chapter 175M of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 43 and 44, the words “or (ii) a paid family, or medical leave policy of an employer” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- (ii) a paid family or medical leave policy of an employer; or (iii) any accrued sick or vacation pay or other paid leave provided under an employer policy.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on July 1, 2022.
