An Act providing for weekly Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority hiring reports to the General Court.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to provide for weekly Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority hiring reports to the General Court, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Not more than 1 week after the effective date of this act and monthly thereafter, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority shall file a report with the joint committee on transportation and shall make the report publicly accessible on the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority website. The report shall include: (i) all unfilled job positions, including the position title and the length of time the position has been open; (ii) all positions filled in the prior month; and (iii) the length of time needed for the completion of any required training after an individual has been hired and prior to the date on which the individual may start to perform the role in the capacity for which the individual was hired.
