Mark relative to elevator inspections for small towns; the petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 2510) of Edward R. Philips, Brian W. Murray and Lindsay N. Sabadosa relative to fire protection systems for buildings and structures; and the petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 2537) of David T. Vieira for legislation to prohibit local option amendments to the state building code, reports the accompanying Order (House, No. 5221) ought to be adopted.

Ordered, That the committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security be authorized to sit during a recess of the General Court to make an investigation and study of House documents numbered 2441, 2454, 2498, 2510 and 2537, relative to building standards and fire safety.
Said committee shall report to the General Court the results of its investigation and study and its recommendations, if any, together with drafts of legislation necessary to carry such recommendations into effect, by filing the same with the Clerk of the House of Representatives on or before December 31, 2022.
