An Act providing for bleeding control training as part of the health education curriculum.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 1 of chapter 71 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 26, after the words “shall not be offered.”,  the following:—

Such instruction in health education shall also include bleeding control training. The department of education, in consultation with the department of public health, shall develop the bleeding control training required under this section using instructional materials developed or endorsed by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma; the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians; or the department of public health.
