An Act apportioning electoral votes by congressional district.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 54 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after section 148 the following section:-

Section 148A. (a) Elector assigned to a congressional district. 

An elector who is assigned to a congressional district shall cast a separate ballot for the presidential and vice presidential candidate who received the largest number of votes in the elector’s respective district. 

(b) At-large elector. 

An elector who is unassigned to a congressional district shall cast a separate ballot for the presidential and vice presidential candidate who received the largest number of statewide popular votes.

  

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
