Chapter 51 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:-
Section 67. At the time of the signing of a lease for a dwelling unit, as defined by section 22 of chapter 186, or the conveyance of real property for residential use by deed, the lessor or their agent, real estate broker, salesperson or the seller, if no real estate broker or salesperson is involved in the sale, shall provide to the lessee or buyer forms for affidavits of voter registration prescribed by the state secretary pursuant to section 36, which said lessee or buyer may complete and return by mail.
