An Act relative to flood storage.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1:  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Metropolitan Area Planning Council shall conduct a study of potential flood storage locations and water quality improvements in the Alewife Brook watershed in the Cities of Cambridge and Somerville, and in the Towns of Arlington and Belmont.

Within one hundred and eighty (180) days of passage of this act, the Metropolitan Area Planning Council shall submit a report to the clerks of the House and Senate detailing a plan concerning the implementation of said study.

SECTION 2:  A sum of $100,000 shall be appropriate for the purpose of funding the study required by SECTION 1."
