Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1 - Section 2 of chapter 90 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:-

The registrar shall furnish, upon application, to owners of private passenger motor vehicles who are members in good standing of a fire department, or on-call or volunteer emergency medical technicians or paramedics who serve a municipal ambulance, fire department, or non-profit or volunteer ambulance company within the Commonwealth of the Massachusetts a distinctive registration plate which shall display on their face a design indicating their status as firefighters or EMTs.
