An Act providing notice of public information requests.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 66 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after Section 6A (b) by inserting after “(iii) prepare guidelines that enable a person seeking access to public records in the custody of the agency or municipality to make informed requests regarding the availability of such public records electronically or otherwise” the following paragraph:
“(iv) shall notify the individuals, boards or agencies which are the subject matter of the public records request within 7 days of the request and providing them with a copy of the request.
