An Act strengthening identity theft laws.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 37E of chapter 266 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 26, the figure “$5,000” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000.

SECTION 2. Said section 37E of said chapter 266, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 27, the words “two and one-half” and inserting in place thereof the following word:- ten.

SECTION 3. Said section 37E of said chapter 266, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 38, the figure “$5,000” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $10,000.

SECTION 4. Said section 37E of said chapter 266, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 39 the words “two and one-half” and inserting in place thereof the following word:- ten.
