An Act to increase transparency in the Massachusetts land record systems to protect the property rights of homeowners and businesses.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 6D of chapter 183 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the following paragraph at the end thereof:-
Each assignment of mortgage secured by residential property, as defined in said section 1 of chapter 255E, shall be forwarded within 30 days of the date of the execution of said assignment to the appropriate registry district for recording.
