An Act to provide a safe harbor for health regulations.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, in a civil action against a business arising from alleged infection of COVID-19, so called, it shall be an affirmative defense that the business made any and all reasonable efforts to comply with all local, state, and federal laws regulations, rules, guidance, and standards applicable to public health and the prevention of virus transmission.
SECTION 2. For the purposes of this section, the term business shall include entities organized for profit and not for profit under the laws of the commonwealth and the United States.
