An Act relative to employee resignation.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 30A Section 11 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting, after Section 3, the following paragraph:- "Parties shall have the right to stop and postpone the hearing by verbally requesting so during the hearing. The hearing will be rescheduled no later than 14 business days.”

SECTION 2. Chapter 151A Section 25 Subsection E Clause (1) of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting, after the word “voluntarily”, the following words:- “through a written letter of resignation signed by the employee,”

SECTION 3. Chapter 151A Section 25 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting, after Subsection E Clause (4), the following paragraph:- "An individual shall not be disqualified under the provisions of this subsection from receiving benefits if their employer sends notice to the Department of Unemployment Assistance stating that the employer is no longer contesting the employee's voluntary quit from the company and benefit claim."
