An Act certification of sober homes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Nothwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, all sober homes in the Commonwealth shall be required to be certified by the Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Housing prior to approval by the local municipality.
SECTION 2. Nothwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, prior to operation, any sober home in the Commonwealth shall submit a management plan to the Department of Public Health for review and approval, including but not limited to: ownership, financing, administration, staffing, community engagement, hours of operation, and recovery services.
