An Act relative to medical examinations in correctional facilities.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 16 of Chapter 127 of the general laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following:- During the conduct of any such physical examination or any subsequent medical examination of a female inmate, the presence of a female nurse or female corrections officer shall be required. Nothing in this section shall prohibit the rendering of immediate emergency medical treatment for a potentially life-threatening condition.
