An Act relative to state transportation project landowner notification.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 5C of chapter 79 of General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following sentence:-
Said provisions shall apply to takings authorized by the department of transportation and, in the event a plan has been prepared for a new highway, alteration, relocation, specific repair, discontinuance or discontinuance of maintenance the department shall, at least seven days before a public hearing, mail to the recorded owners of land, subject to a taking because of such new highway alteration, relocation, specific repair, discontinuance or discontinuance of maintenance, a notice of the proposed taking and the time and place of such hearing.
