An Act to establish free access to ride to elections in Massachusetts (FARE).

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 161B of the general laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by adding the following new section:-

Section 28. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority and each regional transit authority shall establish system-wide fare free service for all riders on bus, subway and trolley service on the day of a state primary and on the day of a state election as defined in chapter 50, section 1 of the general laws.
