SECTION 1. The words "Board of Selectmen" whenever appearing in the Cohasset Town Manager Act (Chapter 34 of the Acts of 1997, as amended by Chapter 421 of the Acts of 1998, Chapter 330 of the Acts of 2000 and Chapter 3 of the Acts of 2014, hereinafter referred to as the "Act"), except for the reference in Section 3 of the Act, fourth sentence, to "boards of selectmen", are hereby deleted and those deleted words are to be replaced throughout the Act with the words "Select Board".

SECTION 2. As a result of the amendment described in Section 1, the fourth sentence of Section 3 of the Act shall read "The executive powers of the town shall be vested in the Select Board, who shall have all the powers given to boards of selectmen by the General Laws".

SECTION 3. The word "selectman" whenever appearing in said Act is hereby deleted and that word is to be replaced throughout the Act with the words "Select Board member."

SECTION 4. The word “selectmen”, whenever appearing in said Act, is hereby deleted, and that word is to be replaced throughout the Act with the words “Select Board members”.

SECTION 5. With the consent of the Town having already been voted at the Town’s 2020 Annual Town Meeting, the use of the words “Board of Selectmen,” “Selectman,” and “selectmen” contained in the General Bylaws or the Town, the Zoning Bylaws of the Town, and all regulations issued by the Town, are hereby comprehensively amended consistent with the provisions of the foregoing sections 1, 2, 3, and 4 above without the necessity of further local action.

SECTION 6. This Act shall take effect upon its passage.
