An Act to support children with neonatal abstinence syndrome.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the commissioner of the department of developmental services shall include neonatal abstinence syndrome under the definition of Closely Related Development Conditions as defined under 115 CMR 2 and 115 CMR 6.06(1).

SECTION 2. Section 2 of chapter 123B of the General Laws, as so appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the first paragraph the following paragraph:-

The department of developmental services shall promulgate regulations to facilitate interagency coordination with agencies including, but not limited to, the department of public health, the department of mental health, the department of early education and care, and the department of elementary and secondary education in the provision of, and transition from, Children’s Supports services.
