An Act ensuring electric vehicle chargers in service plazas along the Mass Pike.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall install and maintain electric vehicle charging stations at all service plazas located on the Massachusetts Turnpike for public use; provided, however, that the minimum number of electric vehicle charging stations in each service plaza shall be 2 or the number equivalent to 5 per cent of the total number of public parking spaces in said service plaza, whichever is greater; and provided further, that this section shall be implemented not later than 24 months from the effective date of this act.
