An Act changing the board of selectmen of the town of Hanover to a select board.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Subsection (A) of section 2 of chapter 67 of the acts of 2009 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 2. Subsection (B) of said section 2 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the word “selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board member.

SECTION 3. The first paragraph of subsection (C) of said section 2 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 4. Paragraph (1) of said subsection (C) of said section 2 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out, each time they appear, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 5. Paragraph (2) of said subsection (C) of said section 2 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out, each time they appear, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 6. Paragraph (3) of said subsection (C) of said section 2 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 7. Paragraph (4) of said subsection (C) of said section 2 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 8. Paragraph (5) of said subsection (C) of said section 2 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out, each time they appear, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 9. Paragraph (6) of said subsection (C) of said section 2 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 10. Paragraph (7) of said subsection (C) of said section 2 of said chapter 67, as inserted by section 1 of chapter 141 of the acts of 2013, is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 11. Paragraph (1) of subsection (A) of section 3 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 12. Paragraph (3) of said subsection (A) of said section 3 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 13. Clause (a) of paragraph (4) of said subsection (A) of said section 3 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 14. Clause (b) of said paragraph (4) of said subsection (A) of said section 3 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 15. The first paragraph of section 4 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out, each time they appear, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 16. Paragraph (1) of subsection (A) of said section 4 of said chapter 67, as amended by section 2 of chapter 141 of the acts of 2013, is hereby further amended by striking out, each time they appear, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 17. Clause (2) of subsection (B) of said section 4 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 18. Clause (3) of said subsection (B) of said section 4 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen’s” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board’s.

SECTION 19. Said clause (3) of said subsection (B) of said section 4 of said chapter 67 is hereby further amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 20. Clause (4) of said subsection (B) of said section 4 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 21. Clause (5) of said subsection (B) of said section 4 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 22. Clause (6) of said subsection (B) of said section 4 of said chapter 67, as amended by section 4 of chapter 141 of the acts of 2013, is hereby further amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 23. Clause (8) of said subsection (B) of said section 4 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out, each time they appear, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 24. Clause (9) of said subsection (B) of said section 4 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out, each time they appear, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 28. Clause (a) of paragraph (1) of subsection (C) of said section 4 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 29. The first sentence of clause (a) of paragraph (2) of said subsection (C) of said section 4 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 30. The second sentence of said clause (a) of said paragraph (2) of said subsection (C) of said section 4 of said chapter 67, as inserted by section 1 of chapter 344 of the acts of 2018, is hereby amended by striking out, each time they appear, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 31. The third sentence of said clause (a) of said paragraph (2) of said subsection (C) of said section 4 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 32. Subsection (A) of section 5 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out, each time they appear, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 33. Paragraph (1) of subsection (B) of said section 5 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 34. Paragraph (2) of said subsection (B) of said section 5 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out, each time they appear, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 35. Paragraph (3) of said subsection (B) of said section 5 of said chapter 67, as amended by section 2 of chapter 344 of the acts of 2018, is hereby further amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 36. Section 6 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out, each time they appear, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 37. Section 7 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 38. Subsection (A) of section 8 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 39. Said subsection (A) of said section 8 of said chapter 67 is hereby further amended by striking out, the second and third time it appears, the word “selectmen” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board members.

SECTION 40. Subsection (B) of said section 8 of said chapter 67 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 41. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the executive body of the town of Hanover, previously known as the board of selectmen, shall be known as the select board and shall have the powers and authority of a board of selectmen under any general or special law.
