An Act amending the charter of the town of Tewksbury to change the name of the board of selectmen to select board.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. The charter of the town of Tewksbury, which is on file in the office of the archivist of the commonwealth, as provided in section 12 of chapter 43B of the General Laws, is hereby amended by striking out the word “selectmen”, the first, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth, seventeenth, eighteenth, nineteenth, twentieth, twenty-third, twenty-fourth, twenty-fifth, twenty-sixth, twenty-eighth, forty-fourth, forty-fifth, forty-sixth and forty-seventh times it appears, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.

SECTION 2. Said charter is hereby further amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.

SECTION 3. The third paragraph of section 5 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the word “selectman”, each time it appears, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board member.

SECTION 4. Subsection (l) of section 10 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the word “selectmen’s” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board members’.

SECTION 5. The third paragraph of section 15 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “Board of Selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.

SECTION 6. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
