An Act relative to school safety and security.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 71 is hereby amended by inserting after section 97 the following section:-

Section 98. Each school shall conduct a live intruder training session within the first 90 days of the academic year.  The superintendent will work with the principal, teachers and school resource officer in each school to schedule and execute said training session. The superintendent, principal and school resource officer may alter each training session to reasonably accommodate the needs of each student. Notice will be provided to each student’s parent or guardian explaining the school’s intention to hold a live intruder training session within the specified time frame.
