An Act further defining a quorum of a public body in the town of Monson.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. (a) For the purposes of this act, “public body” shall mean a multiple member board, commission, committee or subcommittee within the executive or legislative branch of the town of Monson, however established, appointed or otherwise constituted, to serve a public purpose; provided, however, that “public body” shall not include a multiple member board, commission, committee or subcommittee whose members are elected by the registered voters of the town.

(b) Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, if a quorum of a public body in the town of Monson requires a simple majority of the members of that public body, the quorum shall be a simple majority of the members serving on that public body, rather than a simple majority of the number of members of that public body as constituted.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
