An Act to allow parties to accept certain nomination signatures from enrolled members of other parties.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Title VIII. Chapter 53, Section 46 is hereby amended by adding after the following words:

"Said registrars shall check each name to be certified by them on the nomination paper and shall forthwith certify thereon the number of signatures so checked which are names of voters both in the city or town and in the district for which the nomination is made, and who are not enrolled in any other party than that whose nomination the candidate seeks..."

unless the state committee of a political party submits a statement to the Secretary allowing nomination signatures for its candidates to be by voters enrolled in specified, or any party other than its own.
