An Act relative to stronger emissions limits.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 3 of chapter 21N, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out subsection (h) and inserting in place thereof the following:- (h) The interim 2030 statewide greenhouse gas emissions limit shall be at least 50 per cent below the 1990 level, and the interim 2040 statewide greenhouse gas emissions limit shall be at least 75 per cent below the 1990 level.
SECTION 2. Said section 3 of chapter 21N, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in subsection (b), clauses (v) and (vi) and inserting in place thereof the following:- (v) a 2045 statewide greenhouse gas emissions limit that achieves at least net zero statewide greenhouse gas emissions;
