An Act to increase health insurer reporting transparency.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 6 of chapter 176J of the General Laws, appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting at the end of subsection (b) the following sentence:-

The commissioner shall make all information submitted to the division pursuant to the provisions of this subsection publicly available on a website in an easily readable and understandable format on an annual basis. 

SECTION 2. Section 11 of chapter 176J of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting at the end subsection (j) the following sentence:- 

The commissioner shall make the annual report required under the provisions of this subsection publicly available on a website in an easily readable and understandable format.

SECTION 3. Section 21 of chapter 176O of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting at the end thereof the following subsection:-

(f) The commissioner shall annually make all information submitted to the division pursuant to the provisions of this section publicly available on a website in an easily readable and understandable format.

SECTION 4. The division of insurance shall implement the provisions of this Act for all data submitted 90 days after the effective date.
