An Act prohibiting smoking near public housing buildings.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Subsection (b) of section 22 of chapter 270 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following clause:- (4) Smoking shall be prohibited within 25 feet of any building within a development for housing owned or operated by a housing authority pursuant to chapter 121B.  The department of housing and community development shall post, in a clear and conspicuous manner, a sign on each building within the development, notifying persons of the smoking prohibition, in a form approved by the department of public health.
